Halloween 2018 – Love Apocalypse Style
Back in 1970-something, the episodic series “Love American Style” told quirky and amusing stories of romance in the “modern world” . Well, post apocalypse love is alive and thriving despite having its own unique challenges. That was the inspiration for this year’s CD and podcast. The stories are drawn from TV series “Fear The Walking Dead” and “The Santa Clarita Diet” and tells the tales of three different couples. John and “Laura” have some real trust issues after she washes up injured at John’s remote fishing camp, while Joel and Sheila come to grips with Sheila’s sudden change in dietary needs. Their daughter Abby confides in Eric, the geeky kid next door, and it becomes difficult to deny the budding romance between them.
The music is as eclectic as ever, with some old school rock and roll, a show tune from the short-lived series “Galavant”, covers by Jake Owen and Barry White, a creepy original Weird Al Yankovic song, and of course, a song from Alice Cooper, the king of Halloween!
So put on the headphones and listen to a few tales of hope in a world where there is never enough of that rare commodity…

This year's Halloween CD is a zombie love story loosely based on "Romeo and Juliet" (key characters are named "R." and Julie), and shamelessly borrows from the movie "Warm Bodies". With music from Capital Cities, Neon Trees, and Katy Perry, this year has a little more modern flair than some previous years. But there is still some old-school covers from Wino and Van Halen for the dinosaurs out there.
So stick the earbuds in, and listen to a story about love stronger than either life or death...
